HIGHER EDUCATION

We currently work closely with Vermont's largest colleges and universities: the University of Vermont, Middlebury College, and Champlain College. Be it event coverage, research documentaries, admissions and marketing material, and even study abroad content, we have been able to serve schools' needs.

With the addition of our Somerville, MA location, we are situated to work with school's throughout the region; we don't mind traveling. If you are associated with an educational institution and are interested in our services, please reach out.

EVENT HIGHLIGHT
University of Vermont Commencement 2022

In May 2022, UVM hosted its first in-person spring graduation since 2019. We were hired to produce a highlight video of the day, emphasizing accomplishment and celebration, featuring commencement speaker Erik Weihenmayer, the first blind person to summit Mount Everest. This video required a next-day turnaround; it was filmed, edited, delivered, revised, and re-delivered in 24 hours!

ACADEMIC/OUTDOOR DOCUMENTARY
UVM Travel Study: Ecuador's Páramo Grasslands

Each year, UVM faculty member Stuart White shares his deep knowledge of the Ecuadorean highlands with UVM students. His course, “Ecuador: The High Andes Underfoot,” gives students a first-hand glimpse at this high-elevation savanna and how humans have shaped its ecology. In 2019, we traveled to Ecuador to document the experience.

FUNDRAISER
Middlebury College Reunion Challenge

In the spring of 2021, Middlebury asked us to produce a video to accompany and aid the upcoming Reunion Challenge fundraising campaign, an annual fundraiser where classes compete to out-donate others and earn a class gift. With COVID-19 restrictions, the reunion was held virtually, and the school needed a way to engage alumni and encourage donations online.

Middlebury is a private institution, so the vast majority of its $1B endowment consists of donations. The Reunion Challenge makes an important difference in the lives of Middlebury students.

A REVIEW

UVMNGP_LOGO_STACK_COLOR_760x380 (2).png

“Light Weight Media was an excellent choice for our two video projects during difficult times in the pandemic. They took all the necessary precautions and training needed in advance for visitor approval without any hesitation. Nicho was flexible in working with our busy and limited schedule for filming, and was responsive in all our communication. He both gave and took direction appropriately in a partnership between film and science, and asked useful questions that would help bring the collaboration together. The editing process was smooth and quick. We would recommend using this company for any film project.”
